To be part of a team providing support services to social work and other staff who advise and assist service users of the department. You are primarily concerned with the maintenance of the office records and systems.
Duties
1 Maintaining and updating service users indices and records, including a computerised information system.
2 Filing.
3 Recording such information as required by the department for the effective operation of services.
4 Typing and keyboard operation.
5 Receiving and passing on information and enquiries from callers to the office.
6 The postholder's duties must be carried out in compliance with the Council's Equal Opportunities Policy.
7 The postholder's duties must be carried out in compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) and subsequent Health and Safety legislation.
8 These duties and responsibilities should be regarded as neither exclusive nor exhaustive, as the postholder may be required to undertake other reasonably determined duties commensurate with the grading of the post without changing the general character of the post.
