| The candidate will: ú Have at least 3 years experience of installing, servicing and fault finding on a broad range of commercial and industrial refrigeration and air conditioning applications (from bottle coolers to cold stores to IT server rooms) ú Have a City & Guilds or CITB qualification in Safe Handling of Refrigerants ú Preferably hold or be working towards an NVQ, City & Guilds, CITB or equivalent qualification in refrigeration and air conditioning or an associated trade (mechanical engineering or electrical control) ú Have a good awareness of relevant health and safety requirements and ideally hold an IOSH Working Safely qualification or have undertaken equivalent health and safety training ú Ideally be educated to O-level / GCSE standard with a minimum of 5 passes ('C' grade or above) ú Be able to demonstrate a methodical approach to problem solving / fault finding ú Have brazing skills and preferably welding skills too ú Be able to build relationships with customers and colleagues ú Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal ú Be willing to learn ú Be an excellent team player Responsibilities will include: ú Carrying out fault finding activities on refrigeration and air conditioning systems and resolving any faults found ú Servicing air conditioning and refrigeration systems to standards laid down in service contracts ú Completing worksheets fully and returning them on time to the office ú Providing on-call cover at weekends as per an agreed rota ú Undertaking all work in such a way that ensures there is no requirement for remedial work and there are no complaints from customers ú Achieving quality standards required by the company and the customer ú Meeting all timescales agreed ú Maintaining good customer relationships while out on site ú Managing complaints and any other issues that arise at customers' sites and, if necessary, referring them to the MD ú Storing parts and equipment in such a way that they can be found immediately ú Regularly cleaning and checking all tools and equipment including vehicles ú Completing vehicle mileage logs accurately ú Keeping the office informed of movements, absences, delays, breakdowns, etc. ú Instructing and supervising semi-skilled engineers ú Co-ordinating with other team members and helping them when necessary ú Complying with all company and customer health and safety requirements including adhering to all written work instructions and risk assessments ú Undertaking all work in a professional manner ú Communicating any problems to the Foreman Supervisor and/or MD |
