| IT First line Support Administrator JOB PURPOSE To provide IT support to the IT Manager and to take responsibility for the day to day IT procedures and and to provide day to day technical support to work colleagues when required. Ability to follow all necessary systems and procedures that are relative to the job and Department within the companies procedures for Health & Safety, Food & Hygiene, Environment, ISO 9000, BRC Standards or any relevant procedure. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • To provide IT backup and support to the IT Manager. • To take responsibility for the day to day IT procedures and to provide day to day technical IT support ie • system backups / backing up the network • checking for software updates and re-installation of machines • setting up and networking PC’s • dealing with PC Hardware & Maintenance etc • Liaising directly with both internal and external customers and suppliers. • To ensure that good communication and cooperation exists between all involved parties both internal • (ie fellow team members) and external suppliers, thus enabling targets to be achieved. • To adhere to safe working practices operated within the Department in line with Health & Safety regulations / policies. • To undertake training and development when required. PERSON SPECIFICATION ESSENTIAL: • Computer literate with some form of IT qualification and/or experience. Knowledge of MS Word, Excel and databases. • Knowledge of working within an office environment in a technical / IT Support role and dealing with customer IT related queries and the ability to problem solve. • Customer Service skills; tact and diplomacy; good telephone manner; as dealing with internal customers and IT suppliers on the phone. • Good standard of Education., including numeracy and literacy. • Able to work well under pressure, with proven efficiency and ability to work to deadlines. • Flexible, able to adapt to the organisation and its' customers changing needs. • Effective communicator, able to work with people at all levels of ability, and from different cultures & backgrounds and ability to work well as part of a team. • Commitment to Equal Opportunities.
